Inspired by nature, Earth’s Friend Furniture reflects Earth’s natural beauty.  The Tusk series reflects the graceful curve of the elephant’s tusk while the Crescent Moon Writing Desk was derived from a grander source.  As we draw inspiration from nature, we strive to give back by utilizing environmentally friendly manufacturing methods and materials such as bamboo, lead free glass, low VOC finishes, powder-coated stainless steel, latex foam cushions (from rubber trees), and 100% hemp upholstery fabrics.

Earth’s Friend Furniture aspires to be CO2 Neutral!

Bamboo is a very fast CO2 ‘fixator’ meaning that throughout its life it harvests CO2, which can only be released by fire.  We use only maturated Moso bamboo, also known as Giant Bamboo, which can grow to 80’ tall and 7” diameter.  Our bamboo is harvested in the midst of the earth’s largest bamboo forest, located in southeast China within a managed plantation. The manufacturing plant’s close proximity ensures minimal shipment of raw materials, which are harvested according to sustainable practices. Steamed and bent strips of milled bamboo make up the curved lines of our designs using a process that virtually eliminates waste of processed materials.  100% Hemp fabric (18.5 oz) and latex foam are cultivated and processed in nearby provinces of China.  Our overall manufacturing process ensures minimal waste and transportation of raw and processed materials.

Bamboo is harder than American Oak with a tensile strength comparable to steel.  These factors, along with the strength of an arc, are evidence that our products are designed, even engineered to stand up to the test of time.  Surviving ancient architecture reflects some of the same shapes and forms, which you will be able to enjoy in comfort and style.
